Australia Sampler 3: Sulfur-Crested Cockatoo (candidate for ignore list)
The sun was up when we arrived early morning in Sydney. After Coogee beach where I had my first BIFs practice on Rainbow Lorikeets and Noisy Miners, dropped by Centennial Park before going to in-laws' house in Woodcroft. This park showed some Australian White Ibis, some Corellas and the Sulfur-Crested Cockatoo.
It was love at first look on the Cockatoo and I had to follow one under a tree to a group out in the open. As they were big targets and slow/predictable fliers, with just under 10 minutes of stay, got most of the BIF wing positions that I desired. After 2 to 3 days finding them present in most spots we visited, relegated them to the ignore list unless I was presented with incoming flights opportunity which I didn't get. Anyway, here are some BIF samples plus a crescent display.

Australia Sampler 4: Australian White Ibis
One of my first Australian birds on my first morning in Sydney. I was thrilled doing BIFs on them - big, slow flying birds and could be found almost anywhere without looking for them. One burst could easily results in a culling issue. Great for lots of BIF wing formations during take off and landing but after two days, was included in my ignore list. Here are samples from first takes.

Australia Sampler 5: Long-Billed Corellas
Encountered this Corella type (one of the three in Australia) twice but only got usable BIFs from the first encounter. No takers when I mentioned that this was a migrant from Japan. I guess throwing one liner is not in my future . When encountered; were mingling with Sulfur-Crested Cockatoos. Looked like slow fliers and thus easy to track. Created some culling issue even when in short burst. Sample BIFs below.
