No kidding, the foot is way too tiny, the hood feels very heavy too. I will replace both.

Mine was delivered some 30 minutes ago, later than their estimated time of delivery. Oh, well, but it arrived safely. Confirmed, the aftermarket toot for those 2 prime lenses doesn't fit.

There are two threaded screw sockets. If your plate only accommodates ¼″ ones, then all you need to do is use an adapter inset from the ⅜". These rings cost <1$.

That's exactly what I did for the time being until a replacement foot becomes available. It is working okay for right now.

I just received the 1.5" tall 105mm metal hood. When I had the 200-600, I used a similar metal hood and left it on. I am going to put away the big and heavy Sony hood. It just takes way to much room in a bag. The metal hood will stay on (not reversible) the whole time. I rarely shoot into the sun for the kind of stuff I use this lens for, so a short hood works much better.
To my big and pleasant surprise, the 400-800+A1+1.5" hood+lens cap fits in the Benba 20L bag, perfectly. The total length of this setup is about 17.75" long.
9.2 oz. is ridiculous! I suppose it is not any type of tech material like used for "real" tele lenses. A hood for a modern 600/4 is about that weight and yet 50% wider and longer also. I suppose there might be a 400-800 Zeppelin hood at some point, but not sure if it will be lighter at the same size.

It's very thick composite material. It felt heavy but I didn't know it actually weighs that much until I put in on the scale. I never used the 600 Gm's Sony hood, I got the shorter Zemlin hood for the 600 GM and the 300 GM. For the 400-800 I think I will be very happy with the 1.5" metal hoods that always stays on. IN the unlikely event that I use a CPL, I can just rotate the hood to get the desired CPL effort but it will be very rare I would use a CPL on this lens, I just bought one though.
I own a file, drill, and 3/8 to 1/4 reducers.
Sometimes I enlargen a hole in generic plate to allow 3/8 screw to be used.
If not, I use a file to enlargen hole in plate so a 2nd 1/4 screw can be used, ie a standard 1/4 screw, not one with thread removed from near the head.
For the 400-800 I just removed the generic pate from my 200-600. The spacing in the feet between 1/4 and 3/8 holes is the same. So it was a straight swap. It already had a bit of filing in the slot in the plate to allow 1/4 screw with full thread to be used.
Foot is secured with 3mm x 8mm screws. I forgot to measure the diameter of the heads, probably smaller than standard.
Spacing is 10 and 24mm.

Just reach into your photography fastener box and grab a reducer.
You do have such a box, right?
Checking Zemlin hood weights for the Sony 200600.
Using those weights as a guide, Sony400800 should be 229g / 8.1oz for standard length.
(based on Zemlin hoods being 87% of the Sony weight)
