Interesting... Procam is a Sony authorized dealer. So it doesn't make sense that their price is now different from B&H or others. Wonder if this means $7750 will become the new price at all retailers soon?!

$5500 A1 as well. Not sure if that was always the price, I thought it was $5k.
Called Procam, they said they did it proactively due to tariffs, but would not comment if it were happening on all sony authorized dealers. I thought they had to follow Sony pricing publicly as an authorized dealer, I guess not.

It likely has to do with the current inventory levels and order statuses of each retailer. In other words, my guess is that Sony has already started passing on the new tariff to recent orders from retailers. The reason other retailers haven’t raised their prices yet is probably because they still have pending orders placed before the tariff took effect, at the old pricing. Once those earlier orders are fulfilled and they need to place new ones with Sony at the higher cost, that’s when we’ll probably see their prices go up...

Many Sony cameras and lenses went on sale for a few weeks and the A1 was on sale for 5k. The sale ended and I believe the A1 is back to it's normal price of 5500.00.

Sales Tax Nexus can be a bit complicated. Last year, I purchased a lens from Pixel Connection. It was originally going to ship from the main store where they were going to charge sales tax. As it turned out, it was shipped from a different store (in a different state) where they weren’t required to charge tax, shipping to Florida.

This may be borderline political, but I have to say, charging sales tax only on state-local sales is a brain-dead situation. Brick and mortar has enough problems without these artificial penalties that apply only to local shops.
I noticed it was available at B&H today at $7,000 and ordered it as tariffs for Japan will likely increase on June 9th making it another $1,000 more expensive.

Me too except from Best Buy last week. I am a Member Plus so if the price drops within 60 days they will give me money back. As soon as I ordered mine they were out of stock again.
I picked one up at Hunt's Camera & Video last week as they had several in stock. They were friendly, sold it for the original price (pre price increase) and also let me know about a $100 Sony rebate that had just gone into effect and applied to the A1 ii in addition to other models.
I’ve been trying to order this camera directly from Sony.com since it came out and finally the “add to cart” button is clickable, but then it says “not enough stock” when you click it. I have no idea why the button is now clickable when it’s been saying “email me when available” since November. I want to order directly from Sony for a discount and their 0% financing that I’ve used numerous times without issue
