Sony GM 85/1.4 Mk2 reminds me of Sigma 85/1.4 DG DN.A bit sharper, contrastier, has more vivid colour rendition, faster autofocus and virtually no CA (as does Sigma).Sharp/very sharp even wide open, but without buttery smooth bokeh of the GM 85/1.4 Mk1 and with no it's painterly look.

Lovely images, Peire.
I have the Ver 1, which I will certainly keep for its special rendering. But I do like the images that I am seeing from the Ver 2. The Ver 2 lacks the luminousness and the smooth, pastel-like contrast of the Ver 1. But the Ver 2 images are also beautiful, in a different way.
In your shots here, for example, I think the greater bokeh structuring of the Ver 2 creates a strong visual impression of depth in the images, which is very pleasing and interesting to look at. Very nice for travel and landscapes.

The lens is growing on me. Push the details hard in post and the bokeh and rendering are still pleasing. A lot of separation and pop. I don't always like the copy and paste look but it does the look well

next batch from same morning
none of these tennis images are all that great
but it shows that I'm using it for sport.
I would not have been able to use the 85 gm I for sport.
I also don't have the w/b figured out.
the 135 gm is a better FL for indoor tennis, when shooting across the net.
but if you're on the same side, as the players, the 85 is good!
when I get into some higher level tennis, it'll be more fun to shoot and I'll get more dynamic images.
but this lens tracked just perfectly and didn't disappoint.
I want to get this lens into some outdoor tennis action asap.
if you're on a computer and click on the image, it will appear sharper, vs. just looking at it on the monitor without clicking.
