Catch of the day! Belted Kingfisher female with her big one! Obvious how they got the name "kingfisher". Ted Shanks Conservation Area in Pike County, MO earlier this week. R5 MKII 200-800 with 1.4X, a ton of crop.
OK, pulled the trigger on my R5M2 plus 2 extra batteries from Nelson Photo in San Diego. I'll head down and pick it up this afternoon to save shipping. I needed the "write off" anyway.
I'll update as I get more familiar with impressions and images. I am excited to see the diminished rolling shutter issues in ES for the horse races this weekend. Also have church with video/stills on Sunday so I'll get a comprehensive eval for its performance in my ecosystem. Next question is battery grip or not, CFXb card compatibility, and will my R5M1 Neewer battery chargers work with the new batteries?

Finding the tracking better than the R5M1?
I guess it depends on what you're shooting. I've spoken with a couple fellow photographers on recent football sidelines about their opinions/impressions about the R5II and both felt it was a significant upgrade over their previous cameras (R5 and R3) in respect to AF performance.
