I noticed a weird effect as well when doing the eye controlled AF testing. There was almost a very minor haze with it? I thought maybe my contact lens was a bit dirty. In practice I haven’t noticed it when actually shooting.

You would love the RF 70-200 f/2.8 unless you often use extenders with your EF version. It's lightweight, compact, and sharp. It's been one of my workhorses now for several years, both for still and video.
