Perhaps your post should be over in this thread not this R1 image thread.

Oh wait, I see you already trolled that one as well.
But I do agree with you. Sony's flagship A1 II might be able to compete with Canon's 2nd tier R5II.
Can you say Quad pixel AF? The A1 II AF won't be able to compete with the R1 let alone the DR and high ISO capabilities mentioned above.
But I digress. Let's keep this thread about the R1 images and specs.
Lighthound,
This is a gear forum where gear is discussed and compared. The title of this thread includes the word "Specifications". One of the R1's specifications is that it has a 24MP sensor. I'm sorry you are triggered by people who don't like this R1 specification, or any other specification of other Canon gear. Usually a troll is someone who doesn't use the gear being discussed, or maybe a hater from another brand. I happen to shoot Canon gear, and a lot of it. If you look around you'll see I give praise to a lot of the Canon gear I shoot with, in just the last few days that being the RF 70-200, EF 200-400, R5, R5II, R3, and 35 vcm. I'm not some Canon hater spouting off who doesn't use the gear being discussed, and I'm not someone discussing a body here who's not in the market for it. I'm in the market for every new high end body and lens that Canon makes. However, some of it has no value to me, and it is my opinion Canon missed the mark with the R1 being a flagship body at 24MP in 2024. You don't have to like it, but that is my opinion along with a ton of other Canon shooters who don't frequent this little forum. If the R1 had more resolution, I and many others would have been all over it as it would have been a very well rounded tool at its price point. But as it is, I don't shoot in the dark 90% of the time, and the current AF systems Canon has delivered since the R5/R6 are plenty good to capture just about anything nowadays. The R3/R5II/R6II were a step up and a bonus, but we are dealing with some serious diminishing returns in the AF department and R1 AF system are not necessary to most people unless one is trying to capture very specialized shots, or shooting in the dark. A lot of people are now very content with the current generation AF systems and are looking at other things like resolution, video, size, weight, lens options, etc. So even if the A1II doesn't completely match the AF performance of the R1, it will still be very close, and with double the resolution. So for me, that's why I say the R1 is a joke for a flagship, just as I could say the same about my R5II's when comparing to the R1. This is my opinion on a tool given its intended use at a price point in time (value), and it's not intended to attack or insult you or any R1 owners. It's perfectly fine if you don't like it, but I have to wonder why you get so triggered when someone doesn't like a feature or spec of a Canon product. I don't believe you've ever been in the market for top tier bodies, so why is it that you always get so defensive and make trolling claims to Canon users who actually buy and use the gear in this category? I don't get it, this it's a gear forum to discuss and compare gear, and these are just simple tools.
