Picked this up while in Japan and am amazed at the size/weight/handling. Really enjoying using it. Now just debating if I want to 6-bit code it as a 50/2 or 50/2.4

Although I don't have the Ultron 28/2 v2 lens, my take is that for both, rendering-wise (clean and modern) and FL/FOV, the Color-Skopar would be the better choice.
Saying this, I simply love my Nokton Classic 40/1.4 for its "classic" rendering. Plus it is 1.3 stops faster and one can always crop the 40mm FOV to 50mm FOV, but not the other way around.

I've tried all the codes and like the Summicron 50mm f/2 (v3) the most. It reduces vignetting effectively.

Interesting, I've had it coded as the 2.4 summarit, I'll have to remove the code and try that one to compare.
Yes, my choice is based on achieving the best vignetting correction rather than staying closer to the actual aperture opening. This lens has higher-than-average vignetting, so having an in-camera profile to correct it is very helpful. Honestly, I do not even need to fix vignetting from this lens when using this code.
The Skopar 50mm f/2.2 feels like a fantastic lens. I do like the short focus throw, making it really compact and quick to use. I feel it shines with tighter apertures, say f/4 or f5.6.
Although, my aperture feels very clicky from f/2.2 to f/5.6, but further up the range it's starting to feel a little bit stiff, losing the clicky sound a bit, and I have to put a bit of pressure on it. My Nokton 35mm f/1.4 II has this clickiness throughout the whole aperture range, hence I feel this is not completely right. Maybe this will wear in a bit, so I'll use it for a couple of weeks and come back to you guys.
Is my copy unique in this? Please let me know, thanks!

It doesn't seem normal. I just checked my copy, and it has the same distinct click across the entire range. Are the blades functioning properly? Is there any oil on them?

Your must be defective. Just checked mine - the effort does not change, nor does the nice clicky feel across all aperture settings.
I've included both film and digital images in this review. If you're wondering what lens to buy - I can attest this is a very good lens if you want to go traveling light!
Just got this little gem. I'm replacing 50 lux with it. I don't use 50 mm that much, so it's nice to have a tiny package to pair with my 35 steel rim reissue. I do wish Voigtlander comes out with a 75 CS. I think I prefer 75 than 50 as part of my kit. All the current CV 75 options are either big or weird looking physically. Leica is very limited too.

If you don't need f/1.4, it will feel so much lighter and smaller than the Lux!
Hi,
I am fascinated by this small, high-performance gem.
This thread isn't for predictions or fortune-telling, but do you think a Sony-E mount version of this M-mount lens will be released in the future?
(Someone may have already asked this.)
I often travel with my Sony α7 series camera, and I want a lens that's lightweight, compact, and consistently produces good images for Sony-E mounts. Of course, I considered using an adapter with my current M-mount lenses. However, the instant magnification mechanism in the viewfinder is a lifesaver when I'm tired and jet-lagged.
I know that lenses like the Apo-Lanthar and Nokton, which are already available for the E-mount, are high-performance. However, they are a bit heavy for me. Or should I stop waiting for the bus that never seems to come and just buy an M-mount lens already?

Unfortunately quite unlikely.
Cosina is prioritizing APO-Lanthars and Noktons for the Non-M mounts. Can't recall exactly where, but I think they even semi-officially said that.
They did release the 40mm Septon, which is quite compact, so there is some hope that they might change their mind, but I wouldn't count on it..

I had this CS 50/2.2 lens for a while but in my experience it didn't adapt to Sony as well as some other VM 50mm lenses (for example Nokton 50/1.5 Vintage Line II & I). Edges and corners weren't quite perfect on Sony without stopping down to f8 or so.
As for native E-mount version, I would guess that it's not in the cards at least in the near future as it would seem like Septon 40/2 already kind of covers a similar purpose and I think Cosina would release additional pancakes to go along with the Septon in native mirrorless at suitable focal length gaps. Don't see how a compact 50mm would fit into the picture in the next 1-2 years. Possibly later...
