p.3 #1 · Laughable Nikon Z7 III and Z80 "rumors"

Since instagram only allows 1080 pixels of width, it's basically 1K resolution. I don't quite see how the purchase of a 8K or 12K camera is justified let alone needed for such use.

What's worse is that instagram is typically viewed from a very small screen at some distance away and so very little detail is conveyed. If viewed on a larger screen (an iPad, for example), it doesn't use the whole screen which is ridiculous.

A Z7 series camera is like from the polar opposite world, made for creating high-resolution, high image quality images. You really need a larger presentation

True, but I just used Instagram as a reveal of the increasing importance of Video.

Those shooting content used on Instagram shoot for other media outlets also, such as YouTube where 4K is becoming the norm and the next gen of TVs will be 8K.

A friend of mine making a huge amount of cash on Getty defines 50mp stills as the minium to maximize profit. There is little doubt that the minimum requirements for video content will keep increasing also.

Cheers,

Methinks folks are missing the obvious portend with the arrival of CFexpress 4.0 cards in the market, clearly, there are no cameras existant that exploit those speeds.

Of note, PCIe 4.0-5.0 and NVMe 1.4c–2.0c architecture continues to advance and any notions of stasis within the consumer/professional imaging world are nonsensical in their obviations, of such.

12K internal-RAW FF cameras, they're coming. ≥90MP FF sensors, they're coming. Both in a Z7III? Who knows?

You’ll need the processor speed and cooling solution to accompany CFExpress 4.0 as well.

Since we're all playing darts here...the rumored N2216 is a Z7III in a Z6III-style "prosumer" body with new Z6III EVF and with the same 45.7MP Z8/Z9 sensor and time-limited (due to heat) internal 8K N-RAW recording, the rumored N2312 is the rumored 90MP landscape/portraiture dream stills shooter in a flagship Z9-style "Pro" body with 12K internal N-RAW dream video shooter functionality all to CFexpress 4.0 with new higher-rez high-nit flagship EVF.
