Gorgeous colors, almost like a fairy tale.
Thank you chiron. This is Oratorium Marianum in the Old University building in my home city.Built in 1704,baroque style of course. Now ceiling just after renovation,so the colours are vibrant and well saturated.

I love the character of the 80mm 1.7, even with all the optical flaws.
This lens reminds me of the Canon EF 85 1.2 II, back when I was using Canon.
My family used to call that lens, “The Magic Eye”.
The GF80mm 1.7 feels and produces images like “The Magic Eye”
I had it for 1 day on a loaner at a Fujifilm event, and I still can’t stop thinking about it.
The Fuji guys kept pointing me to the direction of the 110 and I kept going back to the 80mm.
I too found the images from the 110 boring for some reason.
I missed the last sale, but will definitely get one, the next time around.

I use the 80 a lot. I actually think it should be the first GF prime one should get since it's very versatile. It's just not something you get first if you live on the wider end solely.
“The 55 is still a fantastic lens; I simply like the character of the 80 a bit better. And yes, harsh transition zone is seldom a problem or even visible. But when it is, the 80 wins.
OTOH the 55 wins by miles and miles when it comes to LoCA”.

These are the two shots wide open when I saw slightly excessive LoCA to my taste. They were mostly corrected in PP and you will hardly see them in the image this size. However GF 80/1.7 generally tends to render LoCaA wide open when the background is well lit.

but I don't see the issue with my other images. Maybe I don't know what to look for or don't care much.
It's mostly visible in images with higher contrast in the background. Also, maybe you don't use much saturation when processing your images (seldom a good idea when shooting people).
Edit: And I mean, it's not as bad as with many classic lenses. Just worse than any other GF lens.
