For the love of all things sacred, I wish Cosina would extend that gorgeous solid black design language to all their lenses.
That 50/2.2 is adorable.

I'm REALLY curious about the pricing on that 2.2.... hoping for a more imperfect rendering, maybe a cheap Voigt-Cron equivalent.

I've been hoping for an update on the 50mm color skopar, looking forward to this

Cosina is on fire!

The new 50mm APO Type I collapsible lens looks really cool, and the CV 50mm F2.2 VM COLOR-SKOPAR is so tiny. I believe the latter only comes in aluminum black anodized, but we might receive more information on the paint style later on.

Same here. I don't think it will be super corrected so I'm hoping for a similar rendering to their CV 35/2 Ultron.

How many 50mm lenses does one really need?

Wow, check out the MFDs on the 50 VMs!

APO f/3.5 – 0.45m(Type I) / 0.35(Type II)
CS f/2.2 – 0.5m

Both of these will be instant order for me. That 50 2.2 will be the perfect pairing with the matching aluminum 28 2.8 CS. Finally a small 50 to compete with the LLL 50 Elcan.

I am currently more than just a bit overly-“Fiftied,” but will, nevertheless, be paying attention to these. I have, already, been on a somewhat-casual lookout for a discontinued 50mm Color Skopar, so, it is good to see a new Color Skopar development.

The little color-skopar looks like a beauty! Cosina is really at it with these incredibly polished products left and right.

The new 50/3.5 APO-Lanthar Type II MFD is insane at 0.35m for a 50mm M-mount lens.

I also thought about the Elcan when seeing the CV 50/2.2 Color-Skopar specs but the Voigtlander is even more impressive. It has a closer focusing distance (0.5m compared to 0.7m), is 6mm shorter, and weighs almost half as much as the brass Elcan, which is considered one of the smallest 50mm f/2 lenses.

Compared to the current CV 50/2 APO-Lanthar, the new 50/3.5 APO-Lanthar has some notable differences. Firstly, it has fewer aperture blades (10 vs 12), and their aperture mechanism seems to be different as well. While the 50/2 APO has a perfectly circular aperture at F2, F2.8, F5.6, and F16, the new f/3.5 lens likely has the standard straight blade aperture design throughout.

Also, the new APO is lighter, weighing 245g (Type II) compared to 288g, and it's 8mm shorter, which is welcome for RF shooters. Another significant change is the filter thread size, which decreases from 49mm to only 34mm, although the latter is not an easy to find filter size unless sized up to 39mm.

The 50 f/3.5 Apo is a very welcome announcement as a fan of collapsible lenses, 50mm focal length, and Voigtlander. Type 1 black chrome collapsible has a listed weight of 150g making it lighter than Leica's Elmar-M 50mm f/2.8 (Black = 167g, not sure on Silver). Also nice to see "dedicated hood included"

I doubt I will have the patience to wait for reviews, I'll be mashing refresh on Mr Gandy's site the moment the preorder begins

I think the 50 f/3.5 APO collapsible matte black is 150g but the "two-tone" chrome + black weighs 245g. The former is likely aluminum and the latter brass construction.

I'll be getting whichever is lightest. I have the Nokton 28mm f/1.5 in the lighter matte black so it should all match. Never been a big fan of trading away lighter weight for brass construction, personally I can't really feel a difference in haptics to make the exchange worth it.

That's what I appreciate about Cosina. They understand that people have different priorities and work to accommodate a wider market by providing different styles and finishes.

Said it before and will hopefully say it again; thanks Cosina! Impossible to predict but always intriguing.

After years of waiting and wanting I bought a skopar 50/2.5 ltm a couple of weeks ago and now they release a new version…

At this point, if CV does not surprise me, I am surprised. I love the variety of lenses.

I really wonder if they’ll make a zoom lens, restart film cameras, or do some collaboration to get an actual digital RF. They are such a boon for us.

The magic happens in a small town in Japan. (Nakano City, Nagano)

Video (in Japanese) from some time ago showing the factory and the production of the Voigtlander 180mm F4 SL APO LANTHAR lens:

Out of curiosity, here are some online images showcasing the Cosina factory headquarters. I was told they allow tours.
