RoyPertchi, I like the eyepiece seal of your 20D, is it Canon original accessory ?

That's original Canon allright... it's an old rubber Eyecup from an Ftb. It was a little misshapen from sitting in a box for years, so I trimmed it with a siscor a bit, but the mounting fits the new camera perfectly :-)

nice job RoyPertchi ! I don't like the feeling of my nose pressing tightly against the LCD when shooting and some guys in our local forum has suggested using the EP-EX15 eyepiece extender. It helps a bit but the disadvantage is that the image in the viewfinder gets smaller. I think I will try a DIY solution like that of yours. Thanks !

This is my bag. Please excuse the picture quality. I am relegated to my daughter's p/s while my 1DMkII is at Canon Factory Service.

I purchased it from Moose Peterson/Nature Photographer.
http://www.moose395.net/gear/mp-3.html

The bag is pricey but comes with a lifetime guarantee. I imagine it is so pricey because it is not a mass produced item. I purchased the MP-3 without the optional laptop bag. It comes to $300 shipping included. It is perfect for my gear. It is not overly padded like the Lowepro backpack I had. That does take away some weight and creates room. But there is enough padding in the right places. Moose says he designed it. I believe him. You can tell it was designed by a practicing photographer. I just hang the bag from the hook on the bottom of the center post of my Gitzo Tripod and I can unzipper each of the flaps without taking the bag off of the hook and laying it on the ground. Size-wize it is just a bit bigger then a Lowepro Computrekker.

In my bag on the long lens side, I have the 300 2.8, 1.4 TC, and 2X TC. Each of the flaps have zippered compartments in the flap itself you can store filters, cords, batteries, etc.

On the short lens side I have the 24-70, 200-70, 85. 1.8, camera body, and 580 flash. The flaps also store misc crap too like the flaps on the long lens side.

The one thing I like about the bag is that it is kind of ugly. It does not look like a camera
backpack. No logos just an ugly fatigue like green. This is a keeper.

The bag has backpack straps, as well as a carry handle on the top and side. There is also another feature that I like. You can store one or both of the backpack straps in the zipper pouch in the back of the bag. It now holds a rain cover for the 300 2.8 lens. It is by far the
best bag I have ever bought, and I have bought a few and sent them back to B&H. I actually bought a Lowepro 600. You need a pack mule just to carry the empty backpack. Who are they fooling.
Cheers,
Rob

I use a LowePro NatureTrekker AW II. Its a bit on the heavy side, but not that bad. There's still a little bit of empty space in it right now, but hopefully not within a few months. I already have my money spent in my head.

Wow, this is great. I find it really difficult to evaluate the different backpack products without filling them full of stuff. Pictures of bags full of stuff give me a much better idea about the best bag for me.

Please post more pictures, and please tell us what kind of bag you are using!

Is that the Ralphs or the Safeway? (Always get those two bags confused)

Also, would the 20d with grip fit?

Thanks!

That's not a Photoshop fish (striped bass) in his arms, that's an inflatable fish available in Cabelas fishing catalog. . . . . I think it's on page 127. It's perfect for pictures just like the one on the thread.

Sigh... I guess that'll teach me not to post fish shots on photo forums. ;-)

That was the largest striper the guide had ever seen caught on the fly. He estimated it at 35 pounds. It took me about a minute per pound to bring it in.

I have been using the Mountainsmith Wraith for a couple of years now and like the comfort and carrying it can do. My tripod can be carried on the side and balances perfectly. It can be taken off and put back on without removing the pack. Two spare lenses can be hung off the hip belt. The camera rides on my chest and never in my pack. It is carried with a Tamrac Zoom 16 holster bag on an Optec Cam/bino harness.

In my web browser, about 1 in ten pictures on FM is replaced with the message "This image is copyrighted by the owner". Like jtorral's pic. Can anyone explain this?

My Lowepro Mini Trekker AW

I'm thinking about getting a Lowepro Nova 5 AW shoulder bag. Anyone have experience with this bag and how is the storage space?...I haven't been able to see one in person.

Sorry, I couldn't open it, but it was a little dusty...

Inside I swear there is a 85f1.2, 70-200f2.8, 14.x, 2.0x, 550ex and a book (not to mention the water).

Sometimes, I carry my 400 f2.8 in it and it fits with everything else......

Best darn light backpak a guy could want....
and it takes a licking and keeps on ticking....

Here's my Lowepro Nova 5 AW (drifter136 you may want to look closer)

I haven't had a chance to field test it yet. I consider this one the 'big boy' and will probably be my main storage unit/all out bag. It pretty well holds my whole kit. Only thing about it is there's no straps/means of attaching a tripod or monopod. I may be able to attach something though. It feels comfortable, considering the weight. There is the option of the belt, which can be used with this.

I am thinking about getting the Lowepro Nova 3 AW as a walk around shoulder bag - I found that the Lowepro Micro Trekker 200 is great if you hiking/walking, but to pull you camera out is a bit more compared to a shoulder style bag. I quickly grabbed a Lowepro Toploader 1, but find it a bit small as I can't carry an additional lens and flash. Also, I plan to get the battery grip in the next while so I also need that space, which I think the Nova 3 AW will have (the Nova 2 AW looked small inside).
