p.1 #1 · M for Macaws of the Pantanal - And other exotic creatures
Congratulations to kdacharya for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 3 votes - View Previous Winners
I just got back early last month from my trip to Brazil Pantanal and the Atlantic rain forest with Supreet Sahoo and Magda (Tropical Photo Tours). It was an eye opener and as usual Supreet and Magda made every effort to enhance my photography experience to the fullest.
There were many common species in North America and South America as they migrate too and fro.
Watching the macaws, parrots and the parakeets interacting was like watching humans and it really touched me.
Here is a sample of the photography delights of the Pantanal.
p.1 #3 · M for Macaws of the Pantanal - And other exotic creatures
Stunning, all of them!
My favorites are the Macaws though. Love Macaws!
It was my life mission to have one in the family early on
in life as my 5th grade teacher had a Blue and Gold in the classroom.
I got to help take care of it and ever since I wanted one. 2005 I was
in the position to finally adopt one but after doing tons of research I came
realize that the parrot best suited for my lifestyle was an Amazon.
Reason being they do extremely well when left alone and I worked(and still do) fulltime and
with now 3 young kids I'm extremely busy. So I helped raise a Blue Front Amazon
from when he hatched and he's still with me. He's a stubborn(Amazon trait) bird and a A-hole to be
frank lol but I still love him., I still have my heart with a Macaw though.
One day I'd love to go to their natural habitat and photograph them.
Thanks for sharing!

So my pick here is #7. Would be on my wall already.

Holy smokes KD... What an amazing collection of images and what an amazing trip this must have been.
Every single picture is a thing of beauty...
The opening picture of the macaw and the jaguar in the flowers are simply superb.

Paint me as green as your keet with envy! Man, what a trip! I am so happy for you, whatever you paid for the photo tour was well worth it to look at your photos, and you were able to take full advantage with your skill and efforts. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Thanks Justin. appreciate your viewing and detailed comment.
keeping a macaw or a parrot as a pet is a full time job and they tend to become a part of the family from what I know.
my neighbor in India had an African grey or a kasuku and I remember the joy that it brought to them
