p.1 #2 · Fuji GFX 100 II and new lenses - Pre-order / Shipping Thread
Got my order in @ 6:01 Eastern via B&H.. Actually beat the B&H automated email announcement by 4 minutes.. Hoping I got in the first batch. Knowing Fuji production, I imagine this will be on back-order for quite some time.
Got the 55 1.7 as well. Tempted by the 30 T/S but $4,000 for a niche (for me) lens is a bit steep. Would've grabbed it at $3k, but this is a rental until they come up used.
Was really surprised that they didn't make a money grab with a new tilt EVF adapter. I managed to get a used one at a decent price on MPB.. still 50% off new. If you're considering the camera, might want to source a tilt adapter on the used market before they sell out (probably today).
Looks like per Fuji Rumors, shipping is 2 weeks out, on Sep 26.
Anyone else get up early this morning for this and get your order placed?

The announcement was the first thing I checked this morning, even knowing it probably wouldn’t be a release for me.
The improved AF is certainly welcome. I find the GFX100S to roughly match the XT4-era cameras for AF. If the new camera hits an XT5 (or perhaps HX2S?) benchmark, it’ll be a great upgrade for portrait shooters.
None of the other updates are very important to me, so I while I would be happy to upgrade, I can’t justify the price.
The 55/1.7 could be interesting! Many have been anxiously awaiting it, and if they’ve managed AF like the 110 (rather than the 80), and the optics are top-notch as assumed, it looks to be a winner. Price fortunately didn’t make a big leap, but perhaps that’s due to the DC motor.

It looks phantastic and I want one. But I don't need one so I'll (hopefully) remain disciplined and won't buy one...
Don't really care for 100mp but the body design, overall ergonomics and the 1.0x mag EVF seem very appealing to me. The 55mm 1.7 also looks great, but almost 800g for a standard lens is a bit much

I'm curious to see how the claimed 30% improvement in dynamic range shakes out in real world scenarios. The mF sensors are already so great at recovering highlights and shadows.
I think the improved styling is amazing, love the design.. It's not quite Hasselblad X2D level of design, but it's getting close. It almost look like they took some design cues from the Leica SL2 series.

The old EVF tilt adapters are failure-prone, so be careful buying a used one.

It looks like Fujifilm made some improvements to mechanics of lenses with 55mm - "a DC motor and GMR (giant magnetoresistance) sensor to precisely monitor the position of the AF group for improved AF precision" . I wonder if they trickle down this tech to other lenses refresh.

Kinda makes me wish I had panic-sold my GFX 100 a couple weeks ago like I'd considered. But, no, realistically I can't afford to buy the II until it's available lightly used.
Edit: I guess all the pictures I'd seen were of the 110 T/S; the 30 T/S does have a tripod ring! Still wish they both did, however. Almost certainly going to keep my Schneider 90/4.5 PC-TS.

The tilt/shifts, on the other hand, disappoint me by not having tripod collars. I'll keep using my Schneider 90/4.5 PC-TS and looking for my white whale, the 28/4.5 version.

I agree that we’re already SO good, that I’m curious how an improvement will help us. Perhaps as a need not to use DR200 or DR400? So we can use a lower base ISO? I have to admit, the higher ISO required for DR400 has cause the occasional issue for me in bright conditions.

My order is in.... 6:30 Central time. The improved EVF alone is worth it to me. If the dynamic range increase is half of what is advertised it will be welcome. Videographers will love the new features but I am mostly a stills shooter. My 100S is a great camera and has been babied by me since purchase. Will be up for sale when I get the 100II.

One minor thing I wish they hadn't dropped from the GFX 100 is the second button on the thumb rest (i.e. right above the "Q" button). I think with the three buttons behind the shutter and the two on the front of the body we probably have more programmable buttons overall, but the thumb grip is an excellent place for one and I'll miss that.

Have an order in for the 100II and the 55. Mostly for the improved EVF and IBIS over the 100S I have now. Since I have a bunch of the XH batteries I’m OK with the smaller capacity (compared to 100 mk1).
It’s quite a chunky thing though. And a BIG kit with the lenses. I was concerned that running dual systems (X2D and GFX) would bite me but apparently not. The X2D and V lenses will still be my light and travel kit. This will still be for the zooms and system flexibility. The upcoming 500 is very exciting, for me. I’ll be interested to see how the improved AF goes but I’m being quite realistic in my expectations. I’m not expecting Sony R5 or even XH2 levels of AF.

I mostly use the 100 and 100s for landscape or travel photography; the focusing speed is just fine. i would like to get the new body but can't justify the upgrade. the 55 i am in. I also have the x2d but prefer to travel the 100s
