I don’t disagree on the Zfc but I thought the Df was more plastic than it should be as well. Maybe that’s why there are reports of the weight etc.

I had a zfc and it was frankly, junk. I was shocked at how plasticky and flimsy it was. It doesn't even compare to the build quality of the Df. Even the Fuji retro bodies are several levels higher in terms of build quality. I hope this Zf is better.

What do you mean "even the Fuji..."? I've have a few XT-* bodies and they've all seemed very well-built, probably just as well-built as my "pro" Nikon bodies.

It's easy to understand. I'm not writing a Shakespearean novel here.
Subject is Z fc. I said I was shocked that it was plasticky and that the Df was better.
I then said that even the retro Fuji bodies are several levels higher in terms of build quality. Again, subject in comparison is the Zfc.

The issue is that by saying "even fuji is" implies Fuji is historically plasticy and low build quality, which isn't close to accurate across their lineup.
FB page of Nikon Thailand VP this morning said that there will be an announcement at 11am (+7 GMT)
so in about 4 hours.
All I heard is 24mp new sensor with faster readout than Z6ii but not stacked. Most likely
internal hardware will reflect what will come in Z6iii next year. 3D tracking like Z8/Z9 implementation
and pixel shift to 96mp.

Thanks for the info. If that sensor you describe is the sensor used for Z6iii, it got to be just so overwhelmingly amazing sensor otherwise, I may give up and go with Z7ii. 24MP after this many years just won't cut it for me to get another one...

Subject detection in manual focus mode, cool! Can finally use the LCD to move focus point when using the evf, also cool!
This will make taking portrait or street photo much faster with manual lenses like Noct Nikkor 58/.95.
No need to move focus point manually to use magnifier on the eyes finally
It's a Df with a couple of cm less thickness (due to the lack of the mirror box) and video capabilities (and fully articulated rear screen). It's larger and heavier than my Z6, which shares same 24 Mpix BSI sensor and has better ergonomics (personal opinion, of course).
One feature I like is IS linked to AF point, although this feature is not effective when a NIKKOR Z lens with built-in VR is used; I guess it should work with an old Nikkor AI 50/1.4. I wonder if this feature could be implemented in Z6/Z6II by firmware upgrade.
Subject detection in MF mode too might be helpful although it won't ensure us to get moving subjects in focus. It allows saving a couple of seconds when photographing a static model (if available light is enough for eye detection ...).
32-shot high-res mode is useful for products shots in the studio under continuous lighting. However, if we need to take high-res products shots, other dedicated tools are preferable (medium format cameras).
No (pre)order placed, thanx
Even more dissapointing than the Df. At least that would work well with the old MF lenses, and was lighter than the 'modern' options.
Just a fashion statement.
I get more manual focus and AF lens functionality from Xt3 and Fringer.
