Thanks, the first shot was at a very special and rather unusual place . It was in a lagoon at Bandanaira island in Indonesia. There used to be no coral there at all then about 20 odd years ago, there was a volcano eruption and you can still see the trail of lava flowing down to the sea. This site is right at where lava came down to water. After the eruption when the lava cooled down, there was a big surge of coral growth and hard coral here are growing supposedly about 5 times faster than normal and the whole area is covered in hard coral. Unfortunately we had very cloudy sky and quite a bit of rain so visibility was poor and it was rather eerily dark. The scene was lit with some underwater video light as there were too much backscatter when I used my strobes.
I'm like a kid on Christmas today.... I bought a new Z8, 24-70/2.8 S, and the 135/1.8 S Plena. I come from Leica, I typically shoot an M6 and a Q2 Reporter. Recently my wife says "I want you to get a camera like you used to have, I liked the photos you took back then". She was referring to my D850 that I sold to get into Leica in the first place. I used to do portrait work with various models and friends.
I kept my Leica gear, and bought the Nikon gear today. I was chomping at the bit to get out and shoot a little. I begged her to walk in our downtown area, and let me shoot some photos.

Mr Merlin has been hanging around the local park lately, I always see him in the exact same tree. High above, usually sunning himself in the mornings. I wish I could catch him in a more scenic setting, but I don't think that will happen.
