What if I change the name of the Z9 thread? Will that pull it out of archive I wonder? I guess not,
I stated it a couple of years ago.........at 1bwana1's suggestion.

It just needs someone to post on it. That unarchives it. That thread being also a discussion thread means there will be a wealth of information that will get buried in the archives should the Z9 owners abandon it.
Looking at that crumbling castle causes me to imagine in reverence ...... who lived there and when? How far was it to supplies ? In what year was it abandoned? Does it have a name?

Thank you Robert! I don't know much about the castle but it's called Ballycarbery Castle and it's on the famous "Ring of Kerry" drive in Southwest Ireland. Wikipedia has a small writeup about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballycarbery_Castle

I read the link you posted.
Excerpted from wiki........"There was some kind of residence situated on the site of the castle as early as 1398; however, the present ruins were constructed in the 16th century. It was noted as a McCarthy Mor castle by some sources at that time but whether it was occupied by the McCarthy Mors or their wardens the O'Connells is unknown. The castle was passed onto Sir Valentine Browne following the death of its owner Donal McCarthy More. In 1652 it was attacked by cannon fire from Parliament forces during the War of the Three Kingdoms. In the 18th century a house was built on the site using the barn wall and it was inhabited by the Lauder family. This house was demolished in the early 20th century."
Mark: You could not get closer than 200 meters I think? Current owner concerned about liability I guess. I looked at the images of the inside imagining the people who climbed those now-crumbling stairs.
And here is another link I found in the link you posted. Fascinating! Thanks Mark.

Let's combine the two threads for *discussion* alone......and maybe for the earlier Z9 images.
I honestly do not care whose name goes on it.
I added Z8 to the title of the Z9 thread I started. Still, the two of them should be together.
But I do not think it will compete with the new Z8/Z9 thread. So it will slide down if we do not combine them. Am I wrong?
Ya'll have my permission to take my name off it.
Robert
I much prefer keeping gear discussions separate from image threads. I just one want thread where I can enjoy images made from a specific camera/sensor.
