being that it is tomorrow in JP at this time i thought I'd put this image up as a reminder of our capabilities.

Amen to that. We have just returned from Japan and took the Shinkansen from Tokyo to spend a couple of nights in Hiroshima. Spent a day walking around the city and Peace Memorial Park. Very heavy. Whilst walking to the Miyuki Bridge, the site of some of the very first photos shortly after the blast, we came across a plaque marking a tree as having survived the blast. For reasons I cannot explain, that small plaque darn near moved us both to tears.
(And BTW thanks for all your tips on Tokyo, we had a great trip!)
if you haven't been there you really have no idea. since 1990 i have been there 6 times. it does have an effect on you once you truly realize what occurred there. i have been to Nagasaki too. only one American president has ever actually been there and that was Obama. on my first visit i spent some time talking to a survivor for about 4 hours in the park. it was an event in my life that is not to be forgotten.
In between the bands of rain from the storm we are having, now Tropical Storm Debby. I took the cameras out to the back yard for a little while and got these images!
I think this guys wig blew off yesterday in the storm! Northern Cardinal & no it's not St. Baldrick's Day! 🤣 They loose breeding feathers {molt) this time of year but no worries it grows back!
