I know it's not as fast or tiny as the lenses under discussion here, but it's small (130g) and is internally focused, so it's as big as it will get. So long as you want a black lens, they'll throw in an M-to-E/GF/XF/L/RF/Z adapter for free. If you want silver, then no adapter for you. The samples posted on their site and B&H's aren't all that telling, but it does look like it has better flare resistance than their other Mitakon Creators. With five straight blades, it might get some decent light stars by f/8.

It kinda looks like the 7A 28 5.6. And I know this is subjective, but to me it's, well, uggers.

It does look quite a bit like it, though there are big differences in their designs, and, yes, neither are going to win awards for beauty. Is the Brightin Star pretty? Pancakes are usually busy, but it seems like they went the extra mile giving both metric and imperial scales

The Bs would be so much better looking if it had maybe 1/2 the amount of text on it. But as is, it is way better looking than the Mitakon. I cannot think of a way to make the Mitakon worse looking.

After having used and reviewed the TTArtisan 28mm 5.6 and 7Artisans 28mm 5.6,
which were both rather lackluster, I couldn't get myself to also deal with that Mitakon lens
which looks bigger than the VM 28mm 2.0.

Sure the Mitakon's ugly, though I think it will look better in black. I just don't think it's distractingly ugly. You could hold it up in front of a group of people without three or four of them narrowing their eyes as they read your lens.

8mm longer and a hundred grams lighter, size queen. To me, that puts it right on the edge of usable. I am not among the new generation of pancake lovers.

Well, this doesn't bode well. Just received this package. For something I never ordered. That has other people's names on it. With the final USPS handover sticker with my name/address on it. (the pod case is there just to cover up my deets).
"My" lens from Aliexpress is meant to be handed over to USPS when entering the US... Trying to figure out what the heck is going on... on the aliexpress site it does not say it has been delivered..

And AliExpress now says my package was delivered on 7/13... so basically someone got my lens - maybe the person who I got their $5 iphone case - and now I need to deal w this mess.
Paypal says I need to deal w AliExpress. AliExpress says I need to deal w the seller. Starting at the seller, but it seems really obvious to me USPS messed up, when they stuck my label over the name/address already on the package THAT WAS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!
But what should I expect? That people pay attention at their jobs?...
Thing is, it is not even like I can go to this lady's house (a 2 hour drive), because she may not have my lens either! I have her name/address but she is not on linkedin, googling her confirms the address but no phone #. I found an email address and sent her a note....
The samples show similar characteristics to the Apoqualia 28/1.7 lens, with the latter pushing the boundaries of compactness and optical design even further by providing an aperture that is one and a half times faster.. This represents a significant difference between the two lenses.

The pic in Bastian’s review of the black bicycle @ 2.8 is great! It seems the strength of this lens is close to mid distances wide open. Even if the prices were the same I’d pick this over the MS 28s due to sharpness, flare handling, ease of use and build quality.
I just wish they cut back on all that writing all over the lens!

And at the moment the vendor from AliExpress has ignored everything I said, and just said 'lens delivered'.
Not to me it wasn't. Isn't this why people are meant to sign for stuff?
I responded appropriately, have a feeling this is not going to be fun.
