Samples from the presets:
This is a great example where it definitely looks less "off" with corners blurred. With this lens I often find some details in the background appearing sharp to distract too much from the main elements of the photo.
Maybe I'll try to use that as an advantage and try to take photos where there are intentionally something interesting appearing sharp in the background, which couldn't be captured that way with any other lens
I don't use Lightroom but I definitely have to make a similar blur mask preset to my editing softwares. Just to "normalize" the otherwise normal photos with this lens

More samples using the BrightinStar FC FIX preset (download link shared earlier in the thread), showing how it improves the images with just one click. Sometimes I like the result and sometimes I prefer the original. It really depends on the scene. The closer the subject is to the minimum focus distance, the less correction is needed, but overall the preset seems to help in almost every case, even when the lens is stopped down.
Positive aspects of this lens I really like is the low vigneting and great correction for CA.

Continuing with some before and after samples using the preset:
I really enjoy how the lens handles veiling flare. It adds a nice look to images when shooting into the sun. There's also a ring flare that appears, which I find appealing as well.
So far, I've noticed the lens has low vignetting and low chromatic aberration. It shows extreme field curvature, which can be corrected with the help of post software, and noticeable barrel distortion. It's an unusual mix of character...while color and spherical aberration are well controlled, coma and some other aspects are not.

All samples from this point on use the preset by default. I now load all my images from this lens into Lightroom with it already applied. It has made the lens much more usable overall.
I've included a sample at f/16 (landscape settings) which makes the corners appear more detailed with the help of another preset that sharpens the very edges of the frame. The lens still shows some residual field curvature even at f/16.
Both presets for this lens also correct for distortion which seems to be a +8 or +9 tweak in LR.

Is anyone else using the Lightroom preset I shared for this lens? I can't shoot with it without applying it now...it completely fixes the main issue I had.

I would, but I use Darktable and not LR! If it was in the Lensfun database or could somehow be added to the ACR database that would be lovely!
I made the preset only for Lightroom. Honestly, I can't use this lens without it - it significantly corrects the main unevenness in its rendering. I don't mind some field curvature, but with this lens, it's just too extreme without the preset.
Here's what the severe outward curvature looks like when shot wide open: (It does not really improve much stopped down). This is exactly what the preset corrects in the lens's rendering.
Slight price drop I also saw over the last weekend, but all these $288 prices do not include the UV filter for front lens protection which was formerly often included. The filter is now charged with an additional up to $40. It is like done recently with chocolate bars - slightly lower price for a significant cut in the overall weight of the pack of chocolate.....
