I, too, was in the Patagonia regions of Argentina and Chile recently. Conditions are so unpredictable there, and it took three days for Mt. Fitz Roy to make an appearance during my stay. Plenty of waiting, plenty of cloud cover, and then this happened, lasting less than ten seconds. Never lose patience or look away!
Beautiful image. Well worth your effort. I very often go back to the same place as nature has its way of displaying things differently every time I go.
I know exactly what you mean. I was there for two weeks and even though I had over a week of perfect weather I had 5 days so bad, and so windy, I was just sitting in my hotel room, doing nothing. Going to a restaurant or a local store/coffee place was challenging. You needed goggles to see anything..... Yes, the place sure can be very unpredictable when it comes to the weather.
Also, they had such a heavy snow fall at the end of March! There was more snow on the ground (for a couple of days) than in Winter.
