I've been away for awhile and just restored my Buy and Sell. Shooting these birds is one of the most challenging skills to master. It is all because of darkness. I learn every time, I try and still know there is more to learn. Sometimes it is very frustrating, when you know the bird is right in front of you and you can't tell where. The white balance can be all over the place. I shot in auto WB. Some have been adjusted for taste. It seems to me that dark images aren't appreciated as much, so I've increased my exposures. I can always darken them. These images have been shot different days and a few last year. Thanks for looking.

1 A pair. Hard to get all eyes in focus. (Same focal plane) Not a composite.

Excellent ! I know how difficult it is to follow these guys once they leave the hole. Difficult... but rewarding when you pull it off like these images. Again, excellent shots !!
Nice work Rex. This year has certainly offered some spectacular opportunities, and you've been able to execute. The brightness of your images is almost deceptive as I know the conditions you've been shooting in require the utmost discipline to achieve a sharp image, and you've been able to get the pair in one frame, both in the same plane of focus.
Great job! I may have to post my images here sometime in the near future

I'm looking at the shutter speeds and ISO on these and am blown away ! Not to mention you were even able to spot them. Fantastic work !
