Every now and then someone produces a photograph(s) that makes people stop for a brief time of simple pleasure. The cares and concerns of one's life melt away into a smile and a warm feeling of appreciating everything that is right in the world.
Wonderful set of pic's... I haven't seen these before, at first glance I thought how much they reminded me of chipmunks I used to see all the time when I lived in the great white north.
Down here, it's mostly the gray's. When I visited Toronto, they had red's and big black squirrels like little teddy bears. Who knew there were so many varieties of squirrels? Thanks for sharing.

Boy these are beautiful Greg. The subjects are beyond cute, and everything about your shots is nothing but masterful. Beautiful blurred backgrounds, sharper then a tack they all have a lovely 3D look to them. What lens did you use.

This explanation may help in understanding the difference between a chipmunk and Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel
The Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel is often mistaken for a chipmunk because of its resemblance. However, it is larger and has no stripes on its head. The tail is also shorter. On its neck and shoulders is a russet to golden "mantle." It also has cheek pouches for carrying food.
