After seeing Mitesh's exquisite images from the trip that he, Don Gutoski, and I returned from in December I wasn't so sure I wanted to post mine. But, I figure I'll post a few that are a bit different. Just so you know, these to fellas are the best travel companions and above all, I feel fortunate to have spent time with them chasing up and down hills, catching rainbows and having close encounters with wild pumas. I've intentionally omitted most of the feeding shots and videos....interesting to watch though. I actually haven't even gone through half of what I took so there may be more at some point.
Of course, Don hopefully will post some of his images that will blow these out of the water.

1 Somewhere over the rainbow

2 This was shot with natural light and no flash at all....I've never gotten this on any of the many thousands of cat photos I've taken....the sun was low and must have been at a perfect angle

7 I used some high grasses to intentionally soften the image of the puma with its kill

8 A long dead grey fox carcass being displayed....there was no indication these pumas had been the cause of the fox's demise.

9 Using its sib for practice....we witnessed this behavior numerous times...honing hunting skills is important for puma cubs who will eventually be on their own

11 This is actually a single frame from a video....i had left one camera whilst I took my 70-200 to photograph a few other pumas....and then this happened.....totally cool

Exotic subject, beautiful scenery, three excellent, experienced photographers , that had to be one memorable trip ! Your images are stunning ! That cat is too close to focus Eric! A superb set with a great opening and so many wonderful behavior's. I'm not going to try and call out a favorite as every images is special in it's own way.

From the first until the last, those images are top notch and captivating, Eric! But if push comes to shove, I enjoyed the last 5 images more so.

I thought I'd pick my favs, then I kept picking and picking and picking

I will say I fully enjoyed each. #1 is just amazing to catch that rainbow, #2 is wickedly cool, #5 is 3D and incredible, #6 is also a beauty and looks 3D, #7 is artful and love it, #11 well I guess you know to bring a mirror next time, that is priceless, #12 is adorable.

Yup, got my vote!
