It's actually a Little Pied Cormorant, not a Pied Cormorant which is quite large in comparison. I will change the description in my post.

Surely I am not the only one that sees landscape images at 600mm... I first saw the landscape composition (with nice light), and then waited for a group of trumpeter swans to provide an extra element. For those that might be interested, the landforms (from bottom to top) are Fir Island, Skagit Bay, Camano Island, Whidbey Island, and finally the Olympic Mountains. In the Olympic Mountains, I believe that the valley with light haze is the Dungeness River Valley. Excellent shot Keith! I am not a landscape guy in general, so I definitely don't have an eye for it haha.

I finally managed to get my best harrier shots after 2 years or so of trying. Not super interesting, just portrait shots - but a good consolation prize for when the Short Eared Owls wouldn't come out and play
Harriers move so fast and cover so much ground that usually by the time I see them, they are out of range before I can even get the lens up to my eye...

Beautiful frame, personally I would get rid of the grass in the foreground.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the image. I went back and forth on whether to include the foreground grasses and reeds. I eventually decided to include them for overall balance and grounding of the image (which is purely subjective, I realize). Cropping them out is certainly an option! Thanks again!

Nice, juvenile male (2nd Autumn), he'll look smarter by Spring albeit with a 'dirty' back.
I'd put my efforts into harriers if you have wintering birds locally, you might get a merlin as well.

Awesome! And you’re a bad influence Lance Taking a cue from you and after seeing your photos (particularly the ones at 840mm), I am in the process of selling off my 400mm TC and 800mm PF to get this 600mm TC !
