My son and I went to Laguna Seca to ride motorcycles. When the day was over we went down to the Big Sur area to catch the sunset. He was shooting his Fuji XT2 and I was shooting my Canon...He caught me waiting for the sun to get a little farther down. This is what we caught, link to the landscapes https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1767866
A track day at Laguna is always fun but the trip down the coast is infinitely more beautiful. It's a very nice shot with those golden tones that Big Sur so often serves up, well, when it's not socked in. Do you remember where this was shot at? Hurricane Point? Bixby? It all brings back memories of my childhood.

Hi, Peter. Thank you. We were on the south side of Bixby. Such a beautiful area. Here is a pic of what I was shooting.

Thank you again, Joel
Cool. It looks like the sunset is definitely northwest at this time of year, like just off of Santa Cruz and Davenport. This photo is actually very nice too, showing Bixby tiny in the frame. Next time, for a super detour, take The Old Coast Rd from the north side of Bixby down to Andrew Molera and then come back north on the highway. You won't regret it.

Yeah. That sucker just drops out from under you while you're cranking it to the right. A real thrill.
Yes the Corkscrew is a challenging and exhilarating part of the track, but I have to tell you that going up and around a blind turn 1, then descend at 135mph into turn 2 and try to wait and brake at the 200 foot marker is my favorite part of the track. It takes an incredible amount of will to pull it off. This trip was such an amazing experience. We got to walk the track (which gives you such a different perspective), try out a couple different restaurants and hang out in the Big Sur area for extended times. My first race at Laguna will be next June. I really cant wait to get back to the area...So beautiful.
