After many years of photographing egrets and herons fishing, and having little success other than with them catching tiny tiddlers I finally was in the right place at the right time. The good thing it was a great egret, our largest and was only between 8-15m away and I could use the 400mm sans 1.4x TC for once.
The fishing started out as usual, lot's of effort and no reward, but it was a spectacular winters day and it was fun to watch him dance around and try and catch some dinner.
