Morris, your 500 PF gives really nice IQ for your BIF shots, better than any Fuji glass I’ve seen!

Unsurprising, given Fuji’s lack of long primes. I’m more surprised that someone made an F-X adapter that works well enough to be usable for BIF

Fantastic shots Morris, you caught some great light too!

Thank you Scott,

Fringer makes wonderful adapters not only for Nikon lenses, also Canon and with lenses on the tested list they feel like native Fuji glass.

The over heating might be something for you to look into. Last weekend I shot close to 4000 images at the powerboat races in 85 - 90 degree sunshine and never got any kind of over heating warning. I was using the 100-400 with no vertical grip @ 20 FPS.

I think I have the overheating under control. It was cooler today yet not even the yellow warning now that I have boost set to normal. I do not notice any difference in performance like this. Not that there are now 3 options, boost, normal, and eco

Thanks Morris. Good insights into the new camera and some great shots. I'll be getting my XH2s next Tuesday so I will keep an eye on the overheating issue. Did you have the "Auto Power Off" temp set to "Standard" or "High"? Perhaps setting it to high will give you a bit more room to work with before getting the warning message. Kevin

I believe that the Auto Power Off temp setting is about when you get a warning, not when the camera powers off. Setting the boot setting on the grip to normal seems to have resolved my issue. Today was 10 degrees color yet not even a yellow warning.

Thanks for the report. I'm encouraged by what you write about the speed and apparent low-latency of the camera.

The point I quoted above illustrates, I think, something that is likely to remain true of cameras with high-tech subject identification and selection systems. When they work they are great, but there will likely be situations where their software just isn't as smart as we are. These systems do remarkable things, but the level of "knowledge" required to sort out stuff like whether a bird has its head down while feedings likely to remain beyond the abilities of the software for some

Hi Dan,

Just moving the zone or the focus point will tell the camera where to focus so there is a quick override. On can also configure a button to access the subject detection menu to turn it off or change the subject. Fuji has this well thought out. Moving the joystick is the faster solution yet the same error can happen again so then one must resort to the slower button press and short menu dive.

Thank you Scott,
The 500 PF is a wonderful lens yet I'm also very skilled at post processing to bring out feather detail.

Yeah except looking at Gunther and Gerald Undone’s tests, they found it was better than the X-T3, but not as good as the X-T4. All were fairly close to each other, but that’s how everything shook out.

I gave in to curiosity and watched his video, and aside from him droning on a lot, his comments were well founded and pretty much spot-on.

Fuji probably should have called this camera the X-H10 to reflect all the stuff they left out to cut costs.

None of it was well founded and he completely missed the mark on most of it.

Making claims about build quality and it being cheap is a straight up lie.

Tracking works at 2 to 3x the distance and much faster than the X-T4 with higher hit rate.

Output is not muddy and shooting both cameras side by side (X-T4 and X-H2s), I could see no discernible difference.

The price for a stacked sensor camera is not horrific at all.

IBIS is about the same as the X-T4.

Casey at Camera conspiracy loves the thing now.

DPReview made tweaks and then the AF was spot on.

Gerald Undone said he could get better quality video from the X-H2s than he could from the A1 thanks to how easy it was to remove the extra stop of noise without losing details.

As for thinking about the camera and planning it, the 7 custom settings have been excellent and allow me to customize the thing setup for a bunch of different lenses or scenarios.
