I'm generally buying at this place. Prices are not always up to date on the web, they are in fact close to established, reliable online retailers in Germany, if you ask for a quote or suggest a price.

I really like Roberts Camera in Indianapolis - I live in Chicago and delivery is extremely fast. B&H and KEH I have also used a good amount. In Chicago, Central Camera has been struggling in recent years after a fire in 2020 - I've bought a lot of film there but their digital inventory can be hard to get a handle on.

By "something quickly" I meant if I don't have the time to go to Adorama physically since I'm a few subway stops away from Adorama and B&H is like a 10 minute walk from my jobs office. agvogel wrote:
I've found Adorama to be quicker than B&H for a lot of newer stuff.

Hunt's Photo & Video is my go-to for great customer service and knowledgeable staff. They're always willing to price-match the big guys, and if you want used gear, they're great about helping people find what they're looking for.

I hear Fred’s going to have to start charging tax.
Maybe, but B&S is more like Kijiji or CL, as the plaftorm (FM) does not get involved in the transaction, with regard to money changing hands. That's done outside of FM, at the mutual agreement of the buyer and seller.
OTOH, if I was Fred and I was forced to collect sales tax for B&S transactions on the FM platform, then I'd drop the B&S forum, completely.

B&H used to be my "go-to" store for my gear. I have purchased over $100k in camera gear, computers and electronics over the past 15 or so years. I regret to say that due to a recent situation where they were not completely honest with me, going forward I will only buy from B&H if it is a specialty item that I need NOW and no other shop/dealer has it in-stock.
For camera gear, my new "go-to" is Robert's Camera. I have been buying select camera gear from Robert's for over 10 years and I have always been impressed with their personalized and transparent manner when dealing with me. For example, my NPS Priority Delivery 400mm TC Z lens order with B&H has been on backorder since the January release. When I ask B&H for an update or where I am on the wait list, all I am ever given is generic canned responses. I also ordered the lens from Robert's Camera just a couple weeks ago. With Robert's, I know exactly where I stand on their wait list and I get updates from the same salesperson I deal with. No BS. No 2-Step. I will bet that I get the lens from Robert's well before B&H notifies me that it is in-stock!

Always B&H, if you order within a few minutes of something being announced never let me down
B&H isn't even into to November yet with filling Z9 pre-orders yet. This was 3 weeks ago or maybe 4. It took them months to get through the 1st hour, YIKES! Can't do B&H for hot pre-order items, to many order there. If you dfont have issues there, then you need to be playing the lottery! haha
For me I use a place north of Philly. Jack's Camera
