Hey all. Here are few new shots form my recent trip to Death Valley....
I hiked to this spot little over 4 miles (round trip) but that's not the bad part. The access road is so bad I almost got stuck in a soft sand in my friend's 4 x 4 Jeep Wrangler (high clearance, low gear, special tires etc.). It is that bad now. The ruts are so deep and full of sand, the car just sinks and game's over. No one will tow your car from there. I'm probably done with this location. If you do go, get shovel, deflate your tires or something. The cell phone won't work either....
So, yes, it was a bit scary trip. But dunes as always are spectacular.
Here are few of my best shots (the last one is just me hiking around dunes)....
Fantastic light and great pictures! Totally understand your hesitance to go back though, getting stuck out in the boonies can be a terrible experience.
The dunes are spectacular. The play of light, shape and texture are well seen. Nice set and worth the risk in my book! Now at least you have a story to tell.
Another great set of photos Gregg! The second one is by far my favorite of this set. Something about those shadows right in the middle really drag me in! The 6th photo with the lone plant really fantastic too. Photos 4-8 are also really nice. Overall great work!
Amazing, incredible shots Gregg. Can't believe you got bogged in a Wrangler. Wow. Is that at the Eureka dunes? I've never been there but your photos have me wanting to go. However I don't have a capable 4WD so I guess I'll have to scratch that one off the list.
Gregg, absolutely stunning photography. Your sand dunes images are just amazing. I like the look you are going after in this set. The play of lines and shadows is used very effectively. Thanks for pushing the bar higher. YGMV 👍🏻
