i rented this lens for a recent trip of mine. I'm still holding off just due to f-mount overlap (180-400) and kind of wanting to buy another z9 first. The fact that it fits in most 70-200 bags has me sold.

One major oversight I made when buying this lens was not checking for DXO support. I just assumed it was, but for some reason, it is still unsupported by their profiles after ~15 months. Normally they are much faster for the popular cameras, lenses, and even drones. I am starting to get quite the backlog of images as I don't want to process them twice once it is eventually supported (my problem).
If anyone else is in the same boat, please take 10 seconds to use DXO's "suggest a module" tool for the Z 100-400 and/or any other cameras/lenses you may want to see supported in the future

On the off chance I am not the only one waiting for the above, DXO confirmed they "finally have Z lenses in the lab" and the 100-400 along with both TC combinations will be in their March update. Sounds like they were having trouble sourcing lenses for whatever reason. The Nikon 17-28/2.8 profile will also become available in the same March update.

Deep in the DXO forums - scroll down almost to the bottom until you see a post from a DXO staff member named Marie summarizing the February and March updates:

Super excited to take my all new Nikkor 100-400mm lens to Kruger next week and pair it with my Z9.
Over the past 3 years did I take the Sony 100-400mm lens with me (on a Sony body) but now back to 100% Nikon gear :-) Will keep you all posted with hopefully some nice photos.
