I am surprised how well the 1.4tc pairs with you 70-200gm Mkii. There is no perceivable hit in IQ or AF which is amazing. The results are razor sharp. I will be comparing the close up ability with the 1.4tc soon. And yes 280mm F4 is sweet…such a versatile combo
Has anyone tried to use the NiSi Close-up filter in addition to, or in comparison with the TC1.4x ?
I wonder if there is any advantage to add the close-up filter with a 70-200GMII on a high resolution camera, for occasional macro shots.

I'm considering selling my Tamron 28-200, 200-600 to reduce weight, Sigma 85 which is rarely used and possibly the Sigma 105 macro since 0.3X should be enough for closeups of flowers.
New kit would be A7R IVA, 20 G, 35 GM and 70-200 GM II with 2X TC, which would significantly reduce the number of lenses and weight of my kit.

I plan to test the Nisi closeup filter as soon as I can get my hands on one.

I love the rendering of this lens. These are shot wide open at the long of the lens. Cross posting from the nature and wildlife forum.
It's been a few weeks since these were in bloom. I love seeing them early in the morning when these were shot.

A dear friend is heavily involved in dog rescue. Here’s Meg. A year ago she was an abandoned pooch - emaciated and had terrible mange. She’s thriving and absolutely beautiful today. ❤️

This is a core component in my landscape kit since I got it. So small, light, and sharp with or without the 1.4TC that is much easier to travel with than my 100-400 GM was.
Some images from my recent trip the Washigngton State with this lens. These from the Palouse area.

From a recent portrait meet on the fields near to my home and 1st time using a 70-200 for an outdoor shoot. Understand why this type of lens has been such a staple for many :-)

Currently this is the only Sony lens I really want. I've decided I would rather have this than the superb 135 GM, 70-200 f/2.8 has always been my favourite non supertele.
Beautiful images making it tough to resist, but alas new house = no money.
