I am way behind from having too much fun this summer. This post is from the end of September. My oldest son got married in August and I convinced him and new wife that since they could not go on honeymoon (Covid restrictions) they should paddle 30km with me to Spirit Island. A different non iconic view of Spirit Island that is mid way down Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park in Alberta Canada.
I have been to Maligne/Spirit a number of times and thus I was pursuing something a little different - portrait orientation and from a non iconic spot.

Great shots and apparently a very exclusive location. I especially like the first. This is a textbook perfect composition example with nice framing and lines leading the viewer's eye to the horizon with beautifully sun illuminated low clouds.
A question on #4: is it just me or is the horizon line slightly unlevel?

hope to one day make it here! been to jasper twice but in the shoulder seasons when the boat wasn't running. awesome pics and jealous of your experience being able to paddle out there!

jli.jon: The boat runs all the way into the fall. But to get a good picture you have to paddle there. They only let you off for 10 minutes and there are too many people and they don't get there for light hours. I once put in at mid night and paddled to the dock at 4am took pictures and headed back for noon. It can be done. Glad you like the the photo experience. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated.
