Congratulations to arbitrage for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 6 votes - View Previous Winners
I've had good luck with some Belted Kinfisher families over the past 5 weeks. Some taken from my kayak and others from land. Shot in two different location around the Victoria BC area.

It has been said, 'it's better to be lucky than good'. I disagree, it's better to be good-n-lucky

My what an amazing set!! So many absolutely stunning shots. I love the lighting , the pose and the reflection in the first. The one with the leaf has to be quite special and unique. Truly stunning and very enjoyable.

Just outstanding Geoff. Great skill getting these shots. I am also guessing it took a lot of work finding the locations and also a lot of patience - I find Kingfishers to be so skittish - so I am also guessing waiting in the right spot for the right time must have been a test of endurance as well as skill.
