In regards to my earlier comment:

Am I the only one who's thinking this would be perfect for both APS-C (on the A6600) and Full Frame? Even at one kilogram, it's the same mass as the Fuji 50-140 while giving you a slightly wider aperture and the ability to mount it on an FE if you so desire.

I don't understand marketing, using a females hand makes the lens look enormous.

Geesh, reminds me of having the SIGMA 70-200 Sports Lens for EF adapted on my A7RIV. That’s a big boy. Can’t wait to see it in the field.

Guessing these must be quick iPhone snapshots at a trade show booth. You can tell they are not pro marketing pix.

$1700-2000 USD.

This could be an excellent video lens. How badly is the breathing likely to be?

It's funny how when you want a small lens, it's never small enough. However, when you have an option like this which can cover such a vast range of applications, your mind is like...yeah, that's not that big. I would take that everywhere. I mean, it is a 35-150mm.

To me the big question with this lens is: can you really use a button to set it to infinity focus - or any distance - automatically? That's what the promo materials seem to suggest. Relatedly, does that work across focal lengths (e.g. does the software compensate for focal length, or is the lens parfocal)?

A lens with that capability would be extremely useful for astrophotography, or field work where a distant scene needs to be captured quickly. (In my case, I would use it for storm chasing.)

Haha, I couldn’t agree more Tbh, I belong to the same group (own only small 1.8 fixed lenses due to their low weight). Was never interested in a 24/28-70/75 2.8 due to their weight.

However, I am highly interested in that Tamron 35-150 as this would cover a lot of focal lengths I am interested in for taking pictures of my kids. I owned the 70-180 2.8 for a couple of weeks that I loved but I missed always the <70 range. And that Tamron is giving me the additional FL of 35-69 with f2-f2.8 what I highly appreciate for just 200g more weight. A no-brainer for me if the IQ, AF-speed, etc. is similar to the 70-180 2.8

Tamron is the most exciting company in the camera space right now. I can't wait to see what other whacky zooms and primes they come up with.

Still smaller and lighter than carrying a 28-75/2.8 and 70-180/2.8, and lighter than the 70-200GM alone. If you can live with the limitations in focal length and want the extra speed at the wide end, it could be a solid trade-off.

Interesting that the minimum relative aperture is also variable -- is that normal in zooms? I mainly use primes.

We're only missing the information how max aperture changes with focal range now .
As for the size/weight, 2cm longer than the Sigma 35mm f1.2 - might be just outside my comfort zone...

I was really hoping that it comes at 980g as initially rumored, that would have been a no-brainer for me. For the range and speed it covers it is still „light“ but for my usage (family pictures) probably to heavy.

„It’s the first zoom lens with an aperture of F2 on the wide-angle end …“ sounds to me that f2 is only available at 35mm. What do you guys think?
