The freezing cold conditions yesterday were worth the wait to get some of these surfing images in my extended backyard.
I was using the 3D tracking AF mode on the Z fc and at the same time I was also using the D850: the tracking on the D850 is definitely more reliable than the one on the Z fc.

These are really nice!
While the D850 was better, this is pretty impressive. One has to wonder if 3D tracking would be improved with a native Z lens or with an E lens. The 200-400 has a lot of glass to move around and has an older AF motor. Nonetheless, I am pretty impressed by the fact that the camera could pull off these shots, especially given the size of the batteries in the DX Z cameras.
Took my little Z fc for the first time to the track for a motorbike night race: Sydney Motor Sport Park, 13/10/2021.
Nikon Z fc, Nikkor AF-S 200mm f/2G VR1, all @f/2

Wow!... This is super impressive. The last shot seems like the type of image that always fools Nikon Z-bodies. Did you pre-focus, or was this auto subject tracking?... One more,.. What lens are you using, as it seems that the Z-body drives your lens very well?
