I exchange any lens that doesn't hit infinity at the hard stop (or return for a refund if I can't get a correctly-calibrated copy after a few tries). Without perfect hard stop at infinity, it removes one of the main reasons I choose to use an M camera.
Agree. Received my copy yesterday from B&H and it goes past infinity at the hard stop. Common with this lens?

Thanks. Ordered another copy.
I'm sorry this happened to you, but I'm glad to learn that if I get a CV lens that doesn't hit infinity, I should try again. A while back I had returned a CV 21 3.5 for not hitting infinity at the hard stop but never purchased another one thinking they would all be like that.
So many things to check when purchasing new or used M lenses:
Rangefinder calibration (My biggest concern as I rarely use live view)
Centering (Concern when focusing on center with a M body)
Precise and smooth MF rotation (This can be fixed with a CLA but it's extra $$)
Hard stop infinity accuracy (It does not bother me much unless it's a big discrepancy)
With other mirrorless AF lenses, the only major issue to look for is centering, so it's easier to find an optimal copy.
I have had better success with Leica M-lenses but they are not perfect either. It's hard to overcome the list of possible issues above with third party lenses because super tight tolerance is expensive in production.

Thank you. Tested one more time. It's actually the rangefinder calibration that is off. It focuses past infinity on the patch. If I back it off to align the patch it's not sharp when viewing the image in LR. Using the EVF, infinity is correct and reviewing that image in LR it is sharp.

For reference, I have seen people over at the Leica forum, who send their M camera and completely new Leica brand lens(es) for service in order to get them paired / calibrated together. In other words, this is not a Voigtländer / third party lens issue.

I sent my 90 cron APO (it was used) into Leica with the M 10 body I planned on using it with and they dialed it in perfectly, That was a couple of years ago and it is still focusing just fine. I don't change lenses much with that body and lens combo.
My 50 1.2 Nokton has been good outa box on all my M bodies.

Thanks. Sounds like I've just gotten lucky so far then. My CV 15, 21 SEM, 35 FLE, 50 Lux and 90 AA all stop perfectly at infinity on the rangefinder.
My 90 was used and I do a lot of portraits with it so I figured a trip in to Leica with a camera body before I shot with it on a job was a good idea. In hind sight it was.

Replacement copy arrived. Wouldn't click into place at first on the mount, but worked after a few tries. This copy stops at infinity. Great little lens!

Looking through the backyards, across some of the fields and some of the mountains and at the sky with Sunbeams (nick named Jacob's Ladder) also technically not correct by some as Crepuscuar Rays (God Rays or Beams). This is in the Town of Cerda, my wife Carol's Maternal Grandfather's Home and my wife's Daughters Maternal Great Grandfather's home. I relied on Lightroom to work on the sky to allow the seeing of the Sunbeams; I backed off the Lightroom adjustments however.

Congratulations on the new lens Mark. It is my most used lens on my Leica M10-P. I am sure you will have many years of great shooting with it.
