Hi Naturephoto, is this lens working well on TA with the modded Sony?
Hi,
TA?
The lens works well in Lightroom and processed normally with the lens profile for the Leica M 28mm f2 Asph lens. I still have to do some processing in LR including adjustment for highlights, whites, shade, and dark. Also, I have saved white balance in the memory of the camera for Daylight, Cloudy, and Shade that I use while setting the white balance when taking photos. Additionally as I normally do, I increase contrast, but need to frequently still adjust for vignetting for the lens and as I do in almost all cases for processing any image in Lightroom I do increase the vibrance, saturation, and sharpness. As the lens is contrasty, I will at times need to use a Grad filter in Lightroom though not in this case.
Thank you. If TA represents TechArt, I do not have one to say how the lens works with this adapter for AF. I have relied on manual focus for close to 40 years, and it is second nature to me. AF may be nice for some of my smaller and lighter MF lenses however. I do have 2 AF lenses for my Sony kit but they are the 2 long Sony zoom lenses.
I am very sorry, for TA I mean at f2.
A lens like that, so sharp even in the corner on my m9 at f2, sharp at same level on a 42mpx Sony would be great!

Hi,
I am not sure if the lens on the my Kolari Vision UT sensor modified A7rII is fairly sharp to sharp into the corners at f2. Certainly by f4 it is sharp into the corners. You can check through the thread early in the thread to see my results at f2.
Fred just had his A7rII modified by Kolari Vision to the UT sensor modification. He has suggested that results that he is seeing with M-mount lenses is very close to what he is seeing with his Leica M10-R. But, I am not sure if he is seeing the lens as sharp into the corners at f2 at infinity with the lens.

Thanks for confirming that. My limited tests with my 28mm Summicron-M Asph v2 also showed this when comparing a M 240 with my Z6 Kolari UT mod camera.
Would you say that the Kolari UT mod camera performs equally with most or all M mount lenses?
If relevant: Which lenses would be poorer performers on a Kolari UT mod camera than a digital M camera?
Yes, I'd say resolution performance across the field should be similar with digital designs (not film). Even the most troublesome Voigtlander 21/1.4 M-mount Nokton lens performs great on the Kolari mod. (Horribly on the Sony stock sensor)

Great! Do you see any difference in vignetting and color shift ("Italian flag") ?
Those were the differences I saw between the M 240 and Z6UT. The Leica was better regarding vignetting, but worse regarding color shift.
