Cause that and the inevitable slow down on the processes,We extended again the coupon to the end of the month, 31th included.
Does the code still allow multiple separate purchases?
Some camera support added and...
we updated the Canon Contemporary pack to the 2.2 version improving the R5 emulation and fixing some colors as promised some posts back
I think I know what I am doing but I have made erroneous assumptions in the past.
Therefore I have some usage questions:
1. Do you need to choose a camera profile (Standard, Flat, e.g) before you choose an emulation or does the emulation already have an integral base profile ?
2. What is the modular profile? When would I use it? Does it relate to the camera and film emulations?
3. The film emulations were described as:
LINEAR (linear info from the sensor with film emulation applied)
FLAT (base exp curve, no contrast)
STD (full exp curve and contrast)
What does linear mean?
Flat means no contrast curve at all?
Standard is just a basic S curve?
What is the value of the WB presets? Why would you use them over the WB control in your software?
1-No, you don't need to manually choose the basic profiles. The modular profile system is totally transparent and automatically selects the right profile.
2-The Modular profile is thought to be the basis of many emulations; it can be used independently, but it is not meant for this.
3-The film profiles named Linear are based on the Repro linear profile and are aimed at providing the maximum dynamic range available from the sensor.
The profiles called Flat are grafted onto the Flat base profile and have only the exposure curve, no tone compression.
The Standard profiles snap onto the Neutral base profile, in this case the curve is a standard ACR.
The WB presets are designed to help the user select more precise values; but of course they can only be guidelines for general situations.
The matrix mod is a modification that acts on the first colorimetry stage of the DNG pipeline. It is useful when there are exotic lights that can produce extreme response on the sensor, such as narrow band LED lights, sodium vapors, etc. In these cases the matrix mod limits the saturation in the entry stage; of course this disturbs the colorimetry of the whole scene, but it is a cost / benefit balance.
there are some samples of differences between the two colour signatures of our updated Fuji Digital set.
On the left the GFX100 version, on the right the X-Pro2.
I personally do love the new one; finally, I find again a super soft punchy feeling of colours on Provia after a while when they changed from the vibrant beginning (x20, xpro1, X100) to a softer and "yellowish" mood until the latest "return to the origin".
We continue to develop our products to offer the highest possible quality.
We are pleased to announce that the current generation of v2.1 base profiles has obtained the Fadgi 4-star rating on SG target.

As an example: the test on Nikon D810 shows a DE 2000 error of 2.5 compared to a DE 2000 of 4.2 obtained from the Adobe profile.
While for a Sony A7rMk2 the results are respectively 2.39 against 3.57
A week ago I had some meetings with friends and ex-colleagues.
So I took my M9 and took many pics under mixed artificial lights using the mighty 40 1.2
That was just a series of two picture, a world of difference.
We offer evolute film emulations, digital emulations and tailored services, but THE IMPORTANCE of a BASIC calibrated profile for the specific illuminant, from us or just made by yourself is HUGE.
Below on Capture One.
A7r3, also suited with ProStandard profiles on C1..
