I ended up getting both. I really like both of them. I'm thinking I'll certainly use the 1.4 for the vast majority of my 50mm AF needs. But I love the 1.2 wide open too, it's got that little something extra. At 1.4 mine look basically identical. I've only had them for a week or so and haven't shot them enough to make a good decision.
I did shoot them side by side the other day, the only advantage was the additional blur.
I will say that after reading all the reviews, they made it seem like there's just no way to make the lens flare. I mean, it's well controlled, but if you shoot into the sun you can still find it.

Thanks for that comparison, Matt. Really good. I prefer the 50/1.2 in each of the examples, even when both are at f2. I have the 50/1.2 and have been considering the 50/1.4 for travel. I may just carry the 50/1.2 and deal with the size and weight. The image quality of this lens is always so good.
For me the Sony FE 50mm f/1.2 GM is a keeper.
I am constantly amazed by the results it delivers at any aperture.
This lens stands out of my many other 50-ish lenses of Sony, Nikon, and Leica variety.
Both are amazing for their size and weight, punching well above Canikon. While I can see the difference between the two GMs, in real shooting situations, I believe they are the same at the same apertures. Essentially you are trading weight size for f/1.2 and faster AF. I mainly shoot at f/1.2 and at time, I feel that is not even enough .
