Based on a rough Google maps measurement it looks like ~50m.
Exiftool.exe usually show the actual distance. But in my experience this is not accurate for Sony (200-600 and 100-400). May be because of linear motor? Same reason why lenses don't have the little glass windows that shows the focused distance.. It was pretty accurate for my 500PF. Not sure if 600mm and 400mm are different..
Totally agree! Yet some are never satisfied with what these modern cameras can do! Nice capture!

I know we’re all becoming accustomed to these incredible advances in modern photography, as evidenced by the daily uploading of spectacular imagery here at FM, but there are times when I’m just gob-smacked astonished at what our equipment is capable of.
I Shot an airshow over the last 3 days with Sony a1 and FE200-600, and some of the detail captured of these incredible pilots and machines is just remarkable to me. Here’s an F16 “Viper” screaming across the sky and traveling somewhere between 500-600 ear-shattering mph as he banks in front of me. I fire off a burst of six images at 10fps as the hair on my arms stand straight up.
I think it’s remarkable that our gear allows us to capture such detail from an event that happened in a fraction of a second at mind-numbing speed. How lucky are we?!? ...Show more →
We enjoyed feeding the geese this winter. I even ponied up for real goose food.
Last week Poof and I were on the dock, she looks down and says 'what's that?'.
I looked 2 feet off the dock and said 'BAD NEWS'. A humongous snapping turtle.
We'd noticed some equally huge small-mouth bass. Seems many were coming in for the free
buffet. Well that ended the goose feeding. We were just luring them to either death or maiming
We'll start again once we know the turtles are sleeping in the mud.

Well, Robert, I had an interesting encounter with a gosling yesterday when I was standing on some rocks photographing a waterfall, I heard chirping so I looked around, there was a lone 3 or 4 days old gosling climbing from rock to rock, apparently lost from the family. I didn't think I could catch him so I kept watching, eventually he jumped into a 2'x2' hole in a rock that was filled with water, I thought that would be a good chance to catch him since it didn't look like he could get out of that hole, as I approached the hole, I saw a copperhead lying about 2' from the hole, I carefully scooped up the gosling without disturbing the snake. I was sure the gosling would have been the snake's lunch had I not rescued him. I took the gosling to the park's office and let them deal with him. Even though Canada geese can be pests in adulthood but I couldn't stand not helping a helpless baby.
Finally got the chance to shoot NHL with the A1's. Covid restrictions have lifted a bit.
Was testing crop mode tonight to see what i could get away with.
a1 with 24-105 G in crop mode
a1 with 70-200GM with 1.4x and crop mode. Works really well, but not sure id choose this over a 400 2.8 from up top, though 400 is a little tight, hard to see plays develop.

Saturday May 8 Fort Lauderdale Air Show with my A1 and 400 GM
Dippers A1 200-600
Luckily I had the rain cover for the camera and lens , the usual UK poor lighting and showers . I tried to keep shutter speeds 1/160-400 , ISO2000-3200, large crops
