All these posts at 600mm make me feel inadequate with my 100-400mm 😂. 100-400mm is already a bulky lens though, I can't imagine hauling around the 200-600mm on a hike.

That's why you buy an A1 -- so you can get 21MP, 600mm-equivalent images from your 100-400
I'm with you on the 100-400 being enough lens to haul around. If I were a serious wildlife photographer than I'd get the 200-600, no question. As an occasional bird chaser, however, the 100-400 does me just fine, plus is a more versatile and much easier carry option.
Checked out a new spot, was cold and windy, sun was in the wrong place so shadows are pulled way up, 20 mph winds with terns 20 feet from me was quite the challenge. I'll go back a different afternoon in better conditions with the light on the correct side.
Not the A1 image you'd expect...but good news for me in two regards.
1. The Alpha is here
2. The Alpha+1.4TC+200600 fits in my favorite case. Well the a9 did too but little smidges of
height/length matter.

Pelican is all I can tell ya. I rented a lens from LensRental...it came in that case. I wrote and asked if I could purchase the
case and they said yes. This a few years ago.

Looks like this one, the size would be about right as the lens hood is not on the 200-600 in the picture
