Yup. If the a7IV comes out with mid-30's or even 40+MP non-stacked sensor but with RIV performance in AF that would be the one for sure as a 2nd/beater/backup . In the mean time I will continue to hoard because I let FOMO drive my life.

My magic 8-ball currently is seeing my future as A1, 100-400GM, 200-600, 600GM and then either an A9 (original) or upcoming A7IV (not R) as my 2nd body mostly used for backup but also sometimes used as a 2nd active shooting body on trips.
Of course my magic 8-ball is often wrong and usually changes it's prediction on the hour
The two Marks, Mark Smith and Mark Galer are my favorite youtubers, low key but solid guys, their numbers of subscribers don't reflect that though. I guess the ones who yell the loudest get the most attention.
Watching the Mark video...why would the A1 be less adept than the A9 with focusing (repeating A7rIV problems) when using the 200/600? This is a major flaw for me & upgrading from an A9 to an A1. I have my 99II for high resolution (it works really well for action also).

I think a lot of us feel the same way and are anxiously waiting for more info (I know I am)

OK - he did not say that definitively. He stated that he needed to do more tests, so those were preliminary findings. Let's keep that in mind when discussing this.
Too many here are to quickly worried.
We don't know the whether it happens at 15/20/30 fps or at all fps (could point to the AF motors not prcise enough for 30 fps adjustments and 50 MP). Whether it is just a software problem requiring firmware updates, whether the A1 firmware is final, whether AF setting were the culprit, air density played a role etc. etc.
As @galenapass mentioned already, more tests are required and will be performed.
Don't confuse worried with bored...... we're all getting the damn thing, we need something to debate and consternate over until its in our hands :-)

Mark Galer seemed pissed about Tony's clickbait video.
Really glad to see Mark point out (at around the 30:00 mark) that you really do not need to be using Tracking AF modes all the time. In many scenarios, it is not the best option.
Has anyone seen confirmation if the L, M and H FPS can be fully customized to one's liking? I saw this mentioned twice in a vague way but have not seen many mention it or anyone show the actual menu item to do this.
I have PM'd Alex Phan to see if he can confirm or deny. Or Sony could just release the damn manual!!

I think you can only set them to multiples of 5 but I can't remember where I picked that up from.

Figured it might be handy to isolate a list of reviews and commentary in one place for easy finding. I'll try and keep and update list in this post. If we don't think this is useful I or someone else can delete it. I won't re-list the pre-release videos here since they will be usurped by real ones in 28 minutes.
