Fro summary, a1 will be his primary body for now, and he beats up on the sony 70-200 F2.8 repeatedly. The human eye af looks really freaking good.

I'm surprised people like Galer didn't realize that Sony's editing software was updated for A1 support back on Jan 26th??

I don't trust Fro, he couldn't even get the sensor readout speed of the A9/A9ii in one of this reviews from the past.

Galer confirms A7RIV/200-600 issues don't exist with the A1....

At 8:40, Fro confirmed that if the file format is set to lossless, it shoots only 20 FPS even with the drive mode dial is set at H+ (30 FPS).

Gerald and Mark are always worth the time IMO. Looks like a fantastic camera but I'm quite content with my crappy old Riv. (for now...)

After seeing Undone's review, I think my A7S3 will be up for sale. No need to carry two cameras when the video in the A1 is superb.

That is the deal breaker or maker for me. The 200-600 is my main lens.

Fingers crossed the 1.4TC should work as well as the A9.

Hopefully the 2.0 TC works better with the 200-600 and A1 than the A9.

Fro said that the camera doesn't automatically change you into Lossy Compressed if you change to H+. So that is a little annoying..would be nice to run the camera in Lossless Compressed and then have it auto switch any time you turn the dial to H+. As it works if you are in Lossless Compressed and change to H+ it will just shoot at 20FPS and stay in Lossless Compressed. I'll probably just shoot in Lossy Compressed all the time anyways like I do on my other Sony cameras. Or I guess setup My Menu or a button to have the Compressed settings available when I want to do 30FPS.

Sony must have defaulted the AF display to my favorite teal setting...Fro is mistaken as the A9 and A9II had the option to change into the teal mode.

I'm thinking the same although I have been using the A7S3 with the Ninja V to record the night sky in real time and it looks amazingly good. Not sure the A1 will be as good for that.

I read this earlier and wondered what Tennessee has to do with the a1 and Mark, but now I’m tracking... 30min later.

I got the impression that Mark Galer in the above video referred to TN without mentioning his name somewhere at 5:05 or so.

I almost always look at their post images when deciding on a lens or camera.

Thanks. 2 birds with complicated coloration that really puts it to the test. It certainly isn't going to be pure magic but seems like it has a chance to be really good.

People love or hate Fro. I like that he provides tons of viewfinder footage so can get a chance to judge for yourself.

An advanced Google search that shows results in last 24 hrs for "Sony a1 full review"

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&as_q=sony+a1+full+review&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=d&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=images&as_filetype=&tbs=

SAR has a great list as well, probably lots of duplicates from this thread:

The 2nd take off of that parrot? is impressive that it didn't loose it right away. Of course flying towards may be more challenging. But side view should be as good or better than it flying away. The first takeoff was a bit of operator error as focus hadn't stabilized on the bird before it took off...but still it recovered quickly and got some shots.

I think Fro's are some of the best reviews out there for still photographers. Very reasoned, very upfront with how much he was or was not able to test. Shows the live view via the Atmos so we can really see what the focus points are doing. People who ignore his reviews because of his personality are really missing out on some of the most useful review content out there.

Indeed. Initially I was surprised to learn the A1 is similarly capable as the A7siii. However given the price point, it better should be.
It is a fantastic camera, being a jack of all trades.
