p.94 #1 · Hi Sydney

Here are a few more taken in Canberra:

This time with 20D (a year after the Velvia) and Sigma 18-125 (which I only had for 3 days):

The statute outside War Memorial and Telstra Tower in the background

Forget about the EXIF, I think there was a communication problem between the Sigma and the 20D. #1 and 2 above couldn't be taken at the wide end of the lens... and there was AF problem at the tele-end... the Sigma was returned after 3 days

hehe...not sharp enough in your taste huh?! It's not cropped, I don't know why it's a bit soft...have I added some Gaussian Blur?! hmm..... no, not the lens...i think only the original file can tell me

Honestly, it's terribly out of focus even the windows in the back which seems to be the sharpest in the pic is not sharp.

With the first two pics of the statute above, the landscape and portrait format, which one do you guys prefer?

[they have been focused]

Jaldigital is already accepting pre order for PD70 now.
I'm thinking to get one before my trip to Himalaya.

Their site is www.jaldigital.com.au

Richard, I don't know if you have the CP turned the right way around. The sky looks a bit off with the dark areas and then light. It's been a while since I've used one....

I think i'm using the CP the right way, i was told i just need to keep turning until i get the desire effect? are there any other tricks to it?

Zane, u're right, it's a bit overexposed at the rocks, should have process 2 jpg with different exposures and blend them together...

Thanks all for the comments.

I prefer the portrait one too, i don't think the background with the landscape version add much more to the picture. There's lens flare with the landscape shot too?

hehe...if I don't even focus for landscape, don't tell me to work out the hyperfocal distance...it's too much work for me

Well, seriously, I think if I set aperture to f11-16, use wide angle even just the traditional FF 28-35mm, everything's gonna be in focus, unless you get really really really close to the foreground...that's why it's making me lazy...

hehe...don't listen to Smelly (he even complained about my pic being soft ) I think you did the right thing. With CPL, just keep turning until the colour and contrast appeal to you, just whatever you like sometimes

BTW, good composition for those CPL pics

Where's Church Pt?

With the rocks, Martin suggested using the burn tool, may bring back details

Zane, where is that UBD on CD I lent u u can search Church point yourself quite easily!!!!!

I'm kidding about the CPL.. but it just looks like that band of dark bits doesn't look right. I'll buy a CPL on the cokin and try it out myself.
