I also like the first shot better, but not sure about the tower as well. I think the tower adds to the prespective of the picture but may destroy the atmosphere. I think it depends on what the pic is used for. I should also have done one without the tower...
I'm going to do a Full day shoot in and around Canberra in the near future ie before winter sets in , I'd like to get the falling leave out corrin forrest way and then general shots in and around the City and sights ,
"DT" Your handle is neally complete. other jobs got in the way.
Good idea Maurie... Canberra does sound like a good idea.. I do need a weekend out of the city... the rain and lack of sunshine doesn't give much time to take good autumn photos.
Can't wait for the handles! Got my plates for the 029 already! Finally use the proper head on the tripod and no more lop sided landscapes!
Went to G&V last night.. I think those people must have no business or something. They were quite slow and there was like so many salesman there but no customers.
Whilst I was there, I had a look at the side bags. I think Lowepro 650 AW stealth reporter or something. Looked quite bulky but $200 or so I can justify on a bag. Not $400. I just like side bags for their ease to change lenses/grab the camera/not worry about someone stealing stuff behind your back. Anything in that sorta range? Even a 500 version of the stealth reporter... but it's not that much cheaper.
I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to use a backpack anymore, but the shoulder bags that I've got are either too large or too small. I'm against getting a large shoulder bag and sticking everything in it, though. I used the nova 5 for a while and that almost killed me.
btw, I think G&V are a front for the Russian Mafia.
Nova 5 didn't look that big though... I'll invaribly carry a backpack but my normal Timberland one I can use to store one big lens and the rest in the side bag. I'll have to look at the Nova 4 or 5 bags and see if it suits me pulling the camera out etc. Especially if I am thinking of getting a 2nd body sooner or later. Mind you the Magnum AW looks alright... a bit on the high side of cost.. Nova 5 is alright for me.. I think I can live with that one.. maybe.
I know what you mean about G&V, funny though coz if I got $1 for everytime that salesman said "mate" to me, I wouldn't have paid anything for my purchase.
The Nova 5 is about as large as you'd ever want for a shoulder bag. It holds as much as the mini trekker; loaded with the 10D + lenses + accessories it weighed in at around 7kg. The strap is also horrible and digs into your shoulder. I wouldn't recommend it.
I still have mine, so I can lend it to you if you want to try it out.
Personally, I'm looking for a small, thin shoulder/messenger bag that'll hold 2 lenses (3 max or flash) and a few knick-knacks. I'll carry the body/bodies separately.
I just need it to carry say 2 x 10D with grip, one with 70-200 and another with a shorter lens. The rest could sit in the backpack. Strap I think can be replaced easily anyway if it's that bad.
Hmm.. should investigate it.. price of them are "OK" as well... low $100. I guess it's not going to hold everything I own but it's going to hold things that I'll carry when I go out and about travelling.
