Wow! Spectacular bird, place and images!

You are right Nicolas: Stellar's *is* the largest (by mass) eagle species on the planet.

Bergmann's Rule and Allen's Rule explain why, and they hold true for all warmblooded (homeothermic) species that have a large north-south range.

Thanks, not sure if the harpy is bigger, but having seen both my guess is Stellers are more robust FOR SURE.

Too long a lens with not enough space around the bird and no clue as to its environment.

If I had wanted to capture the environment I would have used other lenses for sure...
