I just got an email from B&H that my A7C with lens has shipped! I should have it tomorrow, Friday the latest. Very psyched! I have never pre-ordered a camera body before--I have always wanted to wait for the shake out and early reviews. But I am quite excited about this camera.

Nice pics! What is your impression of the kit zoom, especially in comparison to the Contax G45 that you were also shooting?
Thanks Chiron

The viewfinder does not really bug me, and I am getting on and wear specs, it is noticeable yes but TBH I found the pop up on the RX1R2 more fiddly despite more magnification. I tend to use centre/small mostly for focus so am concentrating mostly on that part anyway which possibly plays in my favour. I havent used the tracking but playing with it it seems pretty good - so another helpful aspect.
Kit lens - it has piddled with rain here since I got this camera and still forecast for a few days, but so far I am glad I got it because together with the body I think it is a bargain ( I read it might cost much more when released on its own - but not sure on that obviously) It complements the body very well and the rather hurried shots I have taken have certainly looked OK to me - but I am no expert.
I do want to try it more in concert with my little Contax lenses and 40 Summicron - and I will try it on my RIII too - no doubt someone here will pop it on and RIV soon then we will really see!
Overall I am happy with both so far - knowing there would be some compromises here. It is a very easily portable little package - which was the intent I guess.

i pre-ordered last Sat and has shipped as well, should be here Friday. I shoot mostly with voigtlanders small lens so should be good combo. Also recently picked up the voigtlander 40/2.8 which is tiny, should be pretty cool with the A7C.

Would value you your opinion on focusing them!
Definitely. I was on the fence but due to feedback from firsthand experience from another member on here in Japan that already got it with the Voigtlander 50/1.5, i pulled the trigger.

Thanks very much! I'll take another shot of the camera and lens without the hood tomorrow when we have do daylight again I have an A9 as my main camera prior to A7C + older gen A7II and original A7r. The small EVF on A7C worked quite well for MF shooting for me today, peaking is very clear even without magnification and magnification is available to 5.9 and 11.7 times or something like that (if I remember right). I could frame my shots and see the focus clearly all the time and MF ease of use was pretty much the same that I'm used to, only with a smaller view. The smaller EVF view is not as good for reviewing photos etc. where my A9 is pretty good though. I've not yet shot the camera in bright daylight under the sun, that might be a bit more challenging since there is not much in terms of eyecup around the EVF. Overall I think the EVF will not make it hard to get focus and framing right and I much prefer having an EVF to using the screen. I've been frustrated with my Sigma fp having to use the screen only if I want to keep it small (the LCD viewfinder makes it a much bigger camera)....Show more →

Ditto!! Please give your thoughts. Ordinarily, I'd test it in person next time I'm in NYC, but that ain't happening.

Would love to hear all your opinions on the EVF. That’s really the only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger.
