Yeah i see now i should not have said anything. I do really like the cron, but it's not perfect. Fwiw I think focus shift is a function of the design of a lens, more than copy-to-copy variation, but I'm not a lens designer.
Without a floating element design, of course the 50 Cron v5 focus is going to shift a little when stopping down, but it shouldn't shift so much that is causes a problem with rangefinder use. I've had three of four 50 Cron v5 with so little shift that it was not what I would consider an issue – that's zero shift in my book because I can't notice it (doesn't mean it isn't happening of course). But I had one copy that had focus shift noticeable enough to be image-ruining for rangefinder use at certain distances. It was particularly bad at infinity, where f/2 was perfect at the hard stop, but at f/8, infinity was no longer sharp at all.
Point I was trying to make was if you feel your 50 Cron v5 when used with the rangefinder is causing you to miss focus, I would encourage you to try another copy. I'm sure Leica would say my problem copy mentioned above was in spec.

I'd like to ask your advice. I am still looking for the best way to deal with the 35mm focal length. I currently have 3 CV lenses (Nokton 35/1.2 III, Ultron 35/1.7 and Ultron 35/2 II) and I can't decide how to solve my 35mm focal length problem. One option is to have 2 lenses (a large fast aperture lens and a small lens) and use the one that fits best. The other way is to use only one lens and here I would like to ask if that single lens can be this new Nokton 35/1.5?
What is the better option according to your experience?

For whatever reason (read: I have too many 50's), I don't use this lens enough...which is a shame. It's really quite nice. The size alone makes it phenomenal. A marked improvement over the version 1 in every way I can think of.

Needless to say, this lens is exquisite and compact. It provides excellent image quality at an affordable price. I started shooting happily with a silver type II copy...

They are like $500 used! Ridiculously cheap given how good the lens is. After I put a lenstab on mine, everything was right w the world. Kinda.
