Will try to pull this off, but it may not be until the weekend. Working an 8 to 5 job and now that the clocks have changed, I don't really get any "daylight" shooting during the week. I doubt I could pull the test off in the morning.

Portrait distance, no hood, any aperture between 2.8 to 5.6, sun outside the frame. Something similar to the horse pic here:
No comparison or pics (beyond maybe one example) needed, just your assessment that the subject still has suficent contrast and color instead of being obliterated by a colorful veil. Does it look more like a vintage Carl Zeiss Jena, or more like a modern lens like the new Sigma 85mm? Big thanks!

Don't worry, there's no urgency, I'm fine with any outcome of the test, I decided to order one regardless of the exact flare performance.

I have the 1.4x TC....but I'm not sure I'm that brave. I guess I could see if the rear element moves and if so measure it at the closest it gets to the mount.

Here is what I know so far........I really like the lens
NO it does not work at all in AF or MF on A7rIII or A9 with Sony 1.4x TC though the TC fits perfectly without interference just no electrical communications being transferred.
I am posting random around the kitchen images and a few outside all handheld or braced so yes the IBIS seems to work pretty well. Also I think the MF is pretty darn nice though some were MF here and some were AF here.
All images with standard LR settings which is 40 on sharpening. To me BG rendering is very favorable. I will say AF is slow, this lens isn't at all like the Sony 90 in focus speed.
Comments and questions welcomed, I may know the answer and I may not Oh, and images were taken before the bottle of Jim Beam was opened

Karl, thanks for those images. How do you like it versus the sony 90 if you had a chance to use both?
I'm personally looking to pick this up or the sony in the very very near future.
If you were working with something other than macro and movement the Sony is the clear winner for AF speed and silent AF. The Sigma does make some very slight noise. Also hand held with the OSS on the 90 you certainly gain some potential for low light shots at slower speeds. There is a little more heft in the weight of the Sony, there is more overall length in the Sigma, if size matters
